Project-based Learning (PBL) involves your students in solving authentic problems and produces results that matter. Tom Markham makes the point that PBL works well in school environments designed to further student-centered, inquiry-based education. He predicts that PBL will become more prevalent in the future due to education evolving into a blend of knowledge transmission, self-focused study, skills and attitudes mastery, and accountability. He also states that there is some evidence that students who learn through PBL perform well on standardized tests.
